Brianna Tolliver has been honored as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week after winning two events at the First Chance Invitational.
Tolliver opened the meet on Friday with a victory in the javelin, recording a provisional qualifying toss of 129 feet 11 inches, a mark that is currently 13th on the NCAA Division III performance list. The sophomore claimed her second event victory of the meet on Saturday, winning the triple jump with a leap of 35' 0 1/4" while also placing fifth in the long jump (16' 2 1/2").
The Cardinals won eight events at the First Chance Invitational to easily claim the team title, outdistancing runner-up University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point by a 150 point margin (294 to 134). CCIW rivals Carthage College and Wheaton College finished third (132 points) and fourth (113), respectively.
North Central returns to action on Friday, traveling to the University of Chicago for the Chicagoland Outdoor Championships beginning at 12:45 p.m.
