An early first-half lead for the North Central College women's lacrosse team was negated on Wednesday, as Trine University strung together six unanswered goals to post a 10-6 victory over the Cardinals at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

North Central got on the board just 63 seconds after play began, as Amy Frazzini gave the Cardinals an early lead. Trine's Samantha Kumfer tied the score with 24:03 left in the opening period, but Jacqui Morgan put the hosts back in front by scoring with 20:52 to play. More than 11 minutes passed before the next goal was scored, though Frazzini broke the drought with her second goal to increase the North Central lead to 3-1.

The Thunder (3-6), however, scored twice in a 12-second span shortly before the first half ended, tying the contest at 3-3 as the second half began. Trine scored four goals in the first 10 minutes of the second period, pulling ahead, 7-3.

Morgan and Caroline Gully both put away goals soon thereafter, though each goal was answered by a score from Trine's Shelly Raupp. Frazzini tallied her third goal of the game, and her team-leading 17th of the season, with 2:40 to play.

Morgan led North Central in ground balls (5) and turnovers caused (3), while Frazzini collected three draw controls and Elise Manzie recorded eight saves in goal. Kayla Grieser was Trine's top scorer with three goals.

The Cardinals (0-6) host Missouri Baptist University on Friday at 7 p.m.
