T he postseason honors continue to roll in for the North Central College baseball teams, as five players have received distinction on the Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association All-Central Region Teams.

Catcher Michael Corrigan, shortstop Nick Robinson and pitcher Nate Arenson were each selected to the All-Region Second Team, while pitcher Mike Kloss was named to the Third Team. Corrigan and outfielder Dan Scott received selections to the Central Region Gold Glove Team for their outstanding fielding efforts.

Corrigan, the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Player of the Year this season, batted .406 this season with 14 doubles, seven home runs, and a conference-high 67 runs batted in. In 21 conference games, Corrigan batted .388, hitting five home runs and posting a .992 fielding percentage. He was also a Second Team All-Region pick last season.

Robinson batted .427 with 56 runs scored and set new North Central records for hits (76) and at-bats (178) this season, finishing among the Cardinals' career top 10 in hits (199), at-bats (560), runs (123), total bases (245) and triples (7). Arenson posted an overall record of 7-2 with a 4.39 earned-run average on the pitcher's mound in his first season as a full-time starter. Robinson and Arenson were both First Team All-CCIW selections this season.

Kloss went 7-2 with a 5.03 ERA and two complete games in 11 starts, graduating as the Cardinals' all-time leader in games started (36) while ranking second in strikeouts (202) and innings pitched (235). He was a Second Team All-CCIW pick for the second straight year in 2010.

Scott, who along with Corrigan made the Cardinals the only team to claim more than one of the nine Gold Glove Awards in the Central Region, started each of North Central's 42 games in center field and led the CCIW in fielding with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in 130 chances. He was a Second Team All-CCIW selection.

The Cardinals' four selections to the All-Region Teams are the most the program has had in a single season, topping the previous record total of three, which occurred in 2009.

The Cardinals finished the 2010 season with an overall record of 31-11, tying for the second-highest win total in school history, and went 17-4 to win the program's first CCIW Championship since 1998. North Central competed in the NCAA Division III Central Region Championships, also for the first time since 1998.
