Tyler Rasche has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Special Teams Football Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 22.
Rasche received the honor, his second of the season, after his performance in the Cardinals'
24-0 victory at Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday. He punted four times for a career-best 45.0-yard average, with three of his kicks pinning the Titans inside their own 20-yard line. He allowed IWU to gain a total of eight yards on two punt returns, one of which was fumbled and recovered by the Cardinals. Rasche pinned the Titans on their own one-yard line with a 49-yard punt in the second quarter, and also on their own five-yard line with a career-long 63-yard punt in the third quarter.
North Central has now won the CCIW's Special Teams Player of the Week Award the past three weeks. Rasche, who also received the honor following the Cardinals' Oct. 8 game against Augustana College, is the only punter in the conference to receive a Player of the Week Award this season.
The Cardinals now have a total of seven CCIW Player of the Week selections this season.Defensive ends

Caleb Bednarz received Special Teams Player of the Week accolades on two occasions.
North Central plays the first of three straight home games this Saturday, hosting Elmhurst College (4-3, 2-2 CCIW) at 7 p.m.
