CCIW Press Release
Nov. 14, 2011 - North Central College football players
Connor Douglas and
Kevin Looff have been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Players of the Week on defense and special teams, respectively, for the week of Nov. 12.
Douglas and Looff were recognized for their contributions to the Cardinals'
35-0 victory over North Park University on Saturday. Douglas intercepted two passes and returned a fumble 40 yards for a touchdown as the North Central defense posted its third shutout in conference play. His touchdown matched the second-longest fumble return in school history.
Looff helped keep the Vikings pinned deep in their own territory by recording six touchbacks in his six kickoffs. North Park was able to average just 15 yards per return on the three kickoffs it was able to run back.
North Central players were selected for 11 CCIW Player of the Week Awards this season. Defensive ends
Willie Hayes and
Valente Garza were also picked as Defensive Players of the Week, while tight end
Alex Haan and running back

The Cardinals won six of the 10 Special Teams Player of the Week Awards in 2011. Punter
Tyler Rasche and kick returner
Caleb Bednarz were each honored twice and kicker
Nick Dace was selected once.
