Mar. 15, 2011 - North Central College baseball player Jon Rashid has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Pitcher of the Week for Mar. 7-13.

Rashid received the selection on the strength of his performance in the second game of the Cardinals' Friday double header against the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Making his first appearance in a North Central uniform, Rashid drew the start and pitched six shutout innings to get the win. He scattered three hits and allowed no walks, striking out six as the Cardinals won, 6-2.

North Central (2-0) returns to action this weekend, traveling to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.) for a three-game series running from Friday through Sunday.
