TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (Mar. 18, 2011) - The North Central College baseball team fell behind early in Friday's game at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, losing a 9-1 decision in the first leg of a three-game set at Art Nehf Field.
The Cardinals (2-1) yielded five runs in the third inning and never recovered, managing just one run on an RBI double by Kevin Hennessy in the seventh. Nate Arenson drew the start on the mound and took the loss, allowing five earned runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings.
North Central takes the field in its second game against the Engineers (8-4) on Saturday at noon Eastern time.
