Four Cardinals Named to Inaugural All-MWLC Teams

2011 All-MWLC Teams

Four North Central College women's lacrosse players have been selected to the 2011 All-Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Teams, as nominated and voted upon by the MWLC's eight head coaches.

Attacker Jacqui Morgan was selected to the First Team as an At-Large selection, while defenders Jessica Morgan and Shannon Prince and midfielder Danielle Fiala were selected to the Second Team.

Jacqui Morgan is tied for second on North Central's team in scoring this season with 32 goals, and also has a team-high 12 assists. She led the team in scoring twice this season, including a season-high six goals at Indiana Institute of Technology on Apr. 16, and established a single-game school record with seven assists against Olivet College on Apr. 3. She ranked fifth in the MWLC in assists per game.

Fiala is the Cardinals' leading scorer with 37 goals, and ranks fourth in the MWLC in goals per game. She has also tallied 30 draw controls and 27 ground balls. Jessica Morgan has started all 13 games and currently has six goals and 16 ground balls for North Central, while Prince, who has also started all 13 games, has totaled 15 ground balls and 11 turnovers caused.

The Cardinals (7-6, 4-3 MWLC) have qualified as the No. 4 seed in the inaugural MWLC Tournament, to be held Friday and Saturday at Adrian College (Mich.) North Central will play the top-seeded Bulldogs in the semifinal round on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time. The winner will face the winner of Friday's other semifinal between second-seeded Carthage College and third-seeded Trine University in Saturday's championship game, which will begin at 1 p.m. Eastern time.
