MEQUON, Wis. (Sept. 24, 2011)-- Two quick goals by host Concordia University Wisconsin proved to be too much to overcome on Saturday at Fitting Field as the North Central College men's soccer team saw its six-game win streak snapped, falling 2-1 to the Falcons.

The Falcons (6-4) needed less than two minutes to get on the board as Jacob Streicher found Kyle Sytsma for the game's opening goal just 1:46 into the game. Sytsma would tack on a second goal for CUW less than six minutes later with a goal in the eighth minute with Jason Rogers tallying the assist.

The Cardinals (6-2) got on the board in the second half with Jake Johnson coming off the bench and scoring a goal in the 58th minute off a Charlie Stanke assist.

Concordia held a commanding 7-2 edge in shots in the opening half of play while the tide turned during the second 45 minutes of action with North Central holding a 7-5 edge in the second half.

Phillip Klipp made three saves in goal for the Cardinals in the losing effort while CUW's Enrique Alvarado turned away two shots.

The loss snaps North Central's six-game winning streak, a span that saw the Cardinals outscore their opponents by a 16-1 margin.

North Central returns to the pitch on Tuesday, Sept. 27, hosting Lawrence University (Wis.) at 8 p.m. in the team's final tune-up before College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin action begins.
