CCIW Press Release

Jan. 10, 2012-- North Central College junior Nathan Fitzenreider was named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Wrestler of the Week for the week of Jan. 2-9.

Competing in the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals over the weekend, Fitzenreider took down Wartburg College's No. 3 ranked Kenny Anderson at 125 pounds, winning by major decision (10-1).  Later in the day, he defeated Dubuque University's Marcus Rivera-Ingalls at 133 pounds, winning by major decision (8-0).  In his final match of the day, the junior scored a technical fall over Andrew Gauthier of Johnson and Wales University (15-0).

Fitzenreider has won three of the last four Wrestler of the Week honors for the 29th ranked Cardinals, with teammate Andrew Hiller receiving the honor last week.

North Central welcomes CCIW foe Augustana College into Gregory Arena on Thursday, Jan. 12 with the first match slated for 7 pm.
