Oct. 13, 2012 – On a rainy night at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium, the North Central College women's soccer team fought College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) foe Carthage College to a 1-1 tie.
Hope Stayer opened up the scoring just over three minutes into the contest, sending a laser into the back of the net on the first shot of the game, her team leading 10
th goal of the season giving the Cardinals the early 1-0 advantage.
In the 35
th minute, the Lady Reds' Taylor Capek knotted the score at 1-1 scoring off a long pass from Alyssa Baker, heading into the intermission.
Neither squad was able to put home the equalizer in the second period of play while each team was only able to get off one shot attempt in the extra frames.
The Cardinals (5-7-2, 1-2-1 CCIW)
Jacqueline Clore stopped three shots on the night in goal while Abby Alm saved five shots for the Lady Reds (4-7-4, 0-3-2 CCIW).
North Central returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 17 playing host to Millikin University in a CCIW contest beginning at 5 p.m.
