Dec. 12, 2012 – The North Central College women's basketball team forced 31 turnovers en route to a 102-49 victory over Milwaukee School of Engineering, Wednesday night inside Gregory Arena.
After a
Maryssa Cladis steal on the Raiders (0-8) opening possession,
Emily Murphy layed one in at the other end to give the Cardinals the early 2-0 lead, and the hosts would not surrender the lead the remainder of the contest.
The Cardinals (5-3) opened up a 20-point lead at the 9:16 mark in the first half as Cladis hit a three-pointer off a pass from
Bobbi Johns, giving the hosts a 34-14 lead.
A layup by
Callie Rezin gave North Central its largest lead of the opening period at 66-26 just before halftime.
North Central continued the defensive onslaught in the second half, holding a lead of 36 points or more throughout while cruising to the 102-49 victory.
Emily Murphy led the Cardinal scoring attack with 16 points while grabbing nine rebounds.
Kelsey Cooling dropped in 11 points on 3 of 5 shooting from three while Rezin chipped in 10 points.
North Central returns home on Saturday, Dec. 15 to take on Dominican University in a non-conference match-up at 2 p.m.
