CCIW Press Release

April 24, 2012-- North Central College student-athlete Joe Turek was named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of Apr. 16-22.

Turek is the third Cardinal to receive the honor as Jon Rashid and Connor Brown were each named CCIW Pitcher of the Week earlier in the season.  This past week Turek batted .563 with 10 runs, three doubles, and a homerun while driving in 11 runs as the Cardinals (19-11, 9-6 CCIW) went 3-1, including a three game sweep of Millikin University on Apr. 21-22.

The Cardinals will take on Division I opponent Northwestern University on Wednesday, April 24 in Evanston, Ill., with first pitch slated for 3 pm.
