Women's Soccer Suffers 5-1 Setback to Gorloks

ST. LOUIS, MO. (Sept. 22, 2012)
– The North Central College women's soccer team gave up four unanswered goals, falling at the hands of Webster University, 5-1 Saturday afternoon at the St. Louis Soccer Park.
 
The Gorlocks (6-2-0) jumped out to an early lead as Jordan Fosburgh found the back of the net off a pass from Jessica Mess in the 35th minute, giving the hosts a 1-0 heading into the intermission.
 
The Cardinals (3-4-1) would respond in the 53rd minute as Tyra Maher snuck one past Webster goalkeeper Jessica Davis, knotting the score at 1-1.
 
Less than 30 seconds later, the Gorlocks Ally Nikolaus connected on a pass from Freddie Brandt, taking a 2-1 lead.  Webster would add three more insurance goals, to take the 5-1 advantage.
 
Cardinal goalkeeper Jacqueline Clore recorded a pair of saves in the losing effort while Davis stopped five shots on the afternoon for the Gorlocks.
 
North Central returns to the field on Tuesday, Sept. 25 traveling to the University of Chicago with kickoff slated for 4 p.m.
