BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (Sept. 29, 2012) – The North Central College women's soccer team dropped its College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin opener at the hands of Illinois Wesleyan University, 4-1 Saturday night at Neis Field.
The host Titans (3-5, 1-0 CCIW) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as Julie Govedarica found the back of the net just 1:33 into the contest.
Hannah Ketterling increased the Titan advantage to 2-0 in the 11
th minute scoring off assists from Govedarica and Emily Hinchman.
In the 27
th minute, Hinchman connected on a header, her fourth goal of the season, as Ketterling returned the favor on a cross over the middle before Tess Bottorff upped the Illinois Wesleyan advantage to 4-0 in the 50
th minute.
Hope Stayer scored the lone goal for the Cardinals (3-6-1, 0-1 CCIW) in the 89
th minute, her team leading sixth of the season.
North Central travels to Elmhurst College on Wednesday, Oct. 3 in a CCIW contest with kickoff slated for 5 p.m.
