Jan. 22, 2013 – North Central College women's track and field sophomore Elizabeth Composto has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Field Athlete of the Week for the first time. 

Composto earns the honor after clearing 11 feet 6 ½ inches to win the pole vault at the Cardinal Opener on Friday. The mark is currently ninth in NCAA Division III and is the top mark in the CCIW. 

Her performance on Friday helped the 15th-ranked Cardinals finish fourth in the home opener with 83 points.  No. 14-ranked University of Wisconsin-La Crosse won the meet with 185 points, while the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh scored 135 and the University of Illinois-Chicago notched 87. 

The Cardinals return to the track on Friday when they head to Carthage College for the Metzger Invite at 3:00 p.m.
