Swimming Squads Fall at Monmouth

Monmouth, Ill. (Jan. 5, 2013) – The North Central College men's swimming team was defeated 117-72, while the women dropped their dual, 135-89, against Monmouth College at the Pepper Natatorium. 
 
Neil Hummer led the way on the men's side with victories in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:50.75), 100-yard butterfly (55.74), and the 100-yard freestyle (53.00).  Hummer also picked up a second place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:24.30). 
 
Loreli Patschke and Kelsey Truedson were both victorious in two events.  Patschke won the 50-yard freestyle (26.56) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:06.38), while Truedson brought home the 200-yard individual medley (2:26.08) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.14). 
 
The Cardinal swimming teams are back in the pool on Friday Jan. 11, when they head to the University of Chicago Invitational at 6:00 p.m.
