(Dec. 26, 2013) – For the first time in his North Central College career, junior wrestler Nathan Segal has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Wrestler of the Week. 

Segal, who is 16-7 on the year and the defending CCIW champion at 149 pounds, went 4-0 last week, including 3-0 at the Florida Gulf Coast Duals in Fort Myers, Fla. 

He earned a narrow, 2-1 decision over Jacob Smith of the University of Chicago in the Cardinals first home dual of the season.  In Florida, he picked up three more decisions by defeating Central College's TJ Peritti by a 4-3 decision, Wheeling Jesuit University's John Gershom by a 5-2 decision and Alma College's James Carey by a 10-5 decision.

The Cardinals head to Galesburg, Ill. after the New Year for the Knox College Chuck Porter Duals on Jan. 4.
