MOLINE, Ill. (Apr. 15, 2013) – After a 40-minute rain delay following the third inning, The North Central College baseball team was unable to hold it's one-run lead, falling to 19
th ranked Augustana College, 3-1 Monday night at Swanson Stadium at Brunner Field.
The Vikings (19-5, 7-3 CCIW) claim the rubber match after the two teams split an Apr. 2 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) doubleheader at Zimmerman Stadium.
The Cardinals (11-14, 4-8 CCIW) scored first as Brad Norell drew a bases loaded walk to give North Central a 1-0 advantage in the top of the second inning.

Jordan Van Dyck gave up just one hit over three innings but did not return after the rain delay.
Augustana took the lead in the bottom of the fourth after play resumed as Mark VanNatta lined an RBI single to first base and Kurt Schmidt scored on an error to give the Vikings a 2-1 lead.
The Vikings would tack on an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh and the bullpen would hold the Cardinals hitless over the final three innings.
Kevin Hennessy led the Cardinals going 2-for-4 from the plate with a walk.
Zac Pacanowski extended his team leading 11-game hit streak with single in the second.
North Central travels to the University of Chicago, Wednesday, Apr. 17 with first pitch slated for 3 p.m.
