May 7, 2013 - North Central College women's lacrosse player Gina Fisher has been named to the 2013 NCAA Division III All-Great Lakes Region Second Team by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).

Fisher recently completed her first season with the Cardinals, helping lead the team to a school-record 12 wins and its first semifinal win in Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) Tournament play. She is the first player in the North Central program's five-year history to receive All-Region honors.

Fisher received the MWLC's Defensive Player of the Year Award this season, bringing the honor to North Central for the second straight year, and was named to the All-MWLC First Team. She established new single-season school records for assists (21), ground balls (84) and caused turnovers (48) while ranking second on the team in goals scored (37) and draw controls (42).

She tied the North Central single-game record for caused turnovers (6) on two occasions and ranked eighth nationally in caused turnovers per game (2.82) while also ranking 11th in ground balls per game (4.94). She led the MWLC in both categories.
