NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Sept. 15, 2013)– The North Central College women's soccer team had a tough fight against the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks ending in a 2-2 at B-W Stadium on Sunday.

The Cardinals' (0-4-1) had to come back in the first half, when the Warhawks (5-0-2) scored the first goal by Carina Krausert, 21:49 into the game.

Midfielder Hope Stayer started responding for North Central with three shots, including one hard hit on goal. But it was Victoria Dunn who came through for the Cardinals with a goal 2:46 left in the half with an assist by Nicholette Fulk. North Central ended the first half with the momentum on their side.

However, at the start of the second half, UW-Whitewater came out strong and put in a goal at 48:22. For the remaining part, North Central battled hard on offense and defense as Mackenzie Wenger stepped up for the team with controlling the ball well when in possession.

As the clock ticked down, the Cardinals finally got the opportunity they were looking for, as Stayer took a shot and scored the team's second goal of the game. This was her second goal of the season, leaving her just five goals away from the all-time NCC scoring record of 38.

North Central then entered overtime and fought UW-Whitewater until the end for possession back and forth, including two additional shots with both teams coming up empty.

The Cardinals are away on Wednesday as they travel to Iowa to take on the University of Dubuque with start time scheduled at 7 p.m.
