(Oct. 15, 2014)– The North Central College women's soccer team battled the Elmhurst College Bluejays through two overtimes, but came up short as they fell, 2-1, on Wednesday night.

The Bluejays (7-5, CCIW 1-2) Â started things with a goal by Jackie Belmonte after forward
Emily Gaither attempted to put one in of her own off a header shot.

But the Cardinals (5-4-2, CCIW 2-1) were quick to respond when midfielder
Nicholette Fulk sent a corner kick to forward
Caley Michalak who put one past the Elmhurst defenders to tie up the game just four minutes later.

The second half came down to the defense as goalkeeper
Nicki Seiton deflected shots to keep the Cardinals tied. Midfielder

Noelia Reyes and forward
Caitlyn Orawiec couldn't get past the defense on Elmhurst's side as they put up their own shots attempts.

It was the second overtime when the Bluejays found an opportunity to snag the game winning goal off a long cross shot that hit the corner of the net in the 108
th minute.

North Central is back in action on Saturday as they travel to Dominican University with game time at 12 p.m.
