Results   Nov. 13, 2014: The North Central College wrestling program started their season off with a convincing 25-12 decision in their meet with host University of Chicago.
The Cardinals (1-0) opened up the meet with a dominant 8-1 decision coming from sophomore
Dominic Boggia at 125 pounds. This would be followed by a tougher matchup in the 133 pound class where freshman
Casey McWhirter won with a 9-6 decision.Â
Sophomore
Layten Binion moved up from his normal weight class of 133 to the 141 class to get an early pin at 4:51 into the matchup with Justin Klein.
Nathan Segal (149),
Blake Olson (157) and
Vincent Pizzo (184) all won their matchups against the Maroons as well. Segal grabbed a 9-3 decision over Mike McNulty as well as Olson earning a 15-4 decision against Tim Salazar. Pizzo had to fight a little harder but would come through with a 6-4 decision over Steven Franke.
The last win of the evening for the Cardinals came from heavyweight
Dylan Mahler (285) who displayed his power in a 4-1 decision over David Gremling. Â
