Nov. 26, 2014 - North Central College saw sophomore Layten Binion named as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Wrestler of the Week for Nov. 17-23.

The #28 Cardinals (1-1) faced off against #27 Augustana College last week and Binion would go on to display his impressive talent. Binion wrestled against freshman Colin Tomkins from Augustana and edged out a hard fought 3-1 decision to complete his day.

Binion also wrestled at the Concordia University Wisconsin Open where he placed first at 141 pounds. Binion started off his day with a 9-1 major decision over Pernevellon Sheppard of University of Wisconsin-Parkside (1-0). Binion also went on to win over Kaz Onoo of Wartburg College in the championship match with a 9-5 decision to take the top spot in the bracket. 

The Cardinals start up again December 6th when they travel to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside (1-0) for the Wisconsin Open. Action starts at 9 a.m. that Saturday and results can be found here.
