With two outs in the inning, Sam Carius doubled to deep center field while Zac Pacanowski followed by reaching on an Elmhurst error, scoring Carius.  Nick DeWolf stepped to the plate and launched a RBI triple to deep left center field to give North Central a 5-1 lead.

North Central added to its lead with a pair of runs in the fourth as Klein shot an RBI base hit through the right side and Carius scored DeRango on a sacrifice fly to right, increasing the Cardinal lead 7-1.

The Cardinals added four more insurance runs in the bottom half of the seventh to cruise to the nine run victory.

Game two was a pitchers dual through five innings before the Bluejays (8-16, 3-9 CCIW) got to Cardinal starter Bryan Polowy for three runs in the top half of the sixth innings, stringing together four hits and drawing a walk.

North Central closed the gap in the bottom of the seventh as Klein led off the inning with a walk and Carius followed with a hit by pitch.  After Pacanowski moved each runner over with a sacrifice bunt, Richard Concialdi shot a RBI single through the right side to cut the Elmhurst lead 3-1.

DeWolf followed with a run-scoring fielder's choice, scoring Carius to pull the Cardinals to within 3-2.
