The Royals (0-0-1) immediately took action at the start of the game with a goal in the first 40 seconds. The Cardinals (0-0-1) had to regain momentum after the early deficit.

Emily Gaither took a hard shot as North Central maintained possession, but missed just a little wide. The Cardinals held off the Royals for the remaining of the first half as they tried to even up the score.
A little break was all they needed as the Cardinals kicked off the second half with a quick shot from midfielder
Rebecca Sneddon that tied the game 1-1, she was assisted by forward
Caitlyn Orawiec.
North Central didn't slow down after that as they held control of the ball before the game was put on delay due to lightning.
After the teams picked back up where they left off with 32 minutes remaining, North Central and Bethel were evenly matched defensively as neither team allowed too many shots on goal.
Makayla Pfeiffer was in goal for the Cardinals as she held down the Royals in the second half.
North Central takes on Central College on Sept. 6 at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. Game time is slated for 2 p.m.
