Rebecca Sneddon found an opening in the net and snuck the goal in off a pass by forward
Emily Gaither to win it, 1-0.
The Cardinals (1-0-1) kept the momentum going in the first half by holding possession the majority of the time and collecting nine shots. The first one came from Gaither, but was just off on the left side. Midfielder
Nicholette Fulk was there quickly to respond with a rebound, but knocked her shot off the post.
The Dutch (2-2-0) were coming off a 5-0 win the night before, but couldn't get anything going in the first half with only two shots.
Entering the second half, the Dutch and Cardinals had to battle for possession of the ball as both offensive sides tried to get the first goal of the game. Goalkeeper
Nicki Seiton snagged three big saves as her and the defense worked to keep Central out of their territory.
With two minutes remaining and both teams struggling to keep control of the ball, North Central found their rhythm as Gaither and Sneddon teamed up to score the winning goal.
The Cardinals compete again tomorrow against the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks in Whitewater, Wis. Game time is slated for 3 p.m.
