(Sept. 7, 2014)– The North Central College women's soccer team couldn't get past the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks on Sunday when they fell, 4-1, in their first loss of the season.
The Cardinals (1-1-1) let two go by in the first half within three minutes of each other. The offense couldn't get it going with only five shots the first period while the Warhawks (3-1) collected 15.
Entering the second half, Whitewater struck again with a goal 49 minutes into the game. However, forward
Emily Gaither found an opening and scored her first goal of the season making it 3-1.
But that wouldn't be enough as the Cardinals weren't able to find another opportunity to lessen the gap before the Warhawks snuck one more through for a goal pushing the score 4-1.
