WHITEWATER, Wis. (Sept. 7, 2014)­– The North Central College women's soccer team couldn't get past the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks on Sunday when they fell, 4-1, in their first loss of the season.

The Cardinals (1-1-1) let two go by in the first half within three minutes of each other. The offense couldn't get it going with only five shots the first period while the Warhawks (3-1) collected 15.

Entering the second half, Whitewater struck again with a goal 49 minutes into the game. However, forward Emily Gaither found an opening and scored her first goal of the season making it 3-1.

But that wouldn't be enough as the Cardinals weren't able to find another opportunity to lessen the gap before the Warhawks snuck one more through for a goal pushing the score 4-1.

Goalkeeper Nicki Seiton gathered nine saves this game. Midfielder Rebecca Sneddon added five shots of her own with midfielder Noelia Reyes, midfielder Mary Lanoue, forward Jorie Pelafas and Gaither putting up attempts as well.

North Central will be back on the field and away again on Wednesday to take on Monmouth College at 3 p.m.
