Wheaton, Ill. (Oct. 24, 2015) - A quick score for the Thunder along with two more goals throughout the game showed too much for the North Central College women's soccer team to handle as they were defeated by host Wheaton College 3-1 to in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) matchup Saturday evening at Joe Bean Stadium.

The Thunder (12-5, 4-1) started their offense fairly quickly as Ally Witt scored two minutes into the game and then Kristin Rauh tacked on another goal in the 18th minute. Though the halftime shot distribution was not one sided at all (9-6), the Cardinals would go into halftime down two goals.

The Cardinals (7-8, 2-3) offense got going early in the second period as Jessica DeJong scored her 7th goal on the season nine minutes into the period and brought North Central within one goal of the nationally ranked host. The Thunder would score a final goal by Rauh in the 86th minute and hold on for a 3-1 victory over the Cardinals.

The Cardinals were outshot 18-12 and only managed to put four shots on goal while Wheaton was able to log 13 at keeper Nicki Seiton. Seiton recorded 10 total saves in the contest.

North Central has just two games left on the season with the next game in Decatur to take on Millikin University on Wednesday, Oct. 28th with game time at 5 pm.
