Tess Godhardt and
Jamie Cuny have been selected to the All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Teams, as voted upon by the conference's eight head coaches.
Godhardt was named to the All-CCIW First Team, while Cuny received Third Team honors. This marks Godhardt's second All-CCIW selection, earning Third Team honors in 2012 at Elmhurst College, while Cuny earns her first distinction.
Godhardt has started all 25 games this season, scoring in double-figures in 24 of those games, while leading the CCIW in scoring, averaging 18.1 points per game. Her 40 points against Millsaps College on Nov. 22 set a new program single-game scoring record, while her 13 made field goals against the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Nov. 29 rank her third on the single-game list and her 12 made field goals against Millsaps rank her fifth. Godhardt's 15 made free throws in the Cardinals win over Millsaps also rank her second on the single-game list.
Godhardt was named CCIW Player of the Week twice, while also earning College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District honors this season. Godhardt also ranks atop the program's single-season field goal percentage list (.593) and fourth on the single-season free throws made list (124). Her .787 career free throw percentage currently ranks her third on the all-time list.
Cuny has also started in all 25 games this season, averaging 8.6 points per game while ranking fourth in the conference in rebounds per game (7.7). Her 85 blocked shots this season rank her atop the program's single-season list, while needing just three blocks to tie North Central's career record of 88 set by Britt Jensen from 2000-2004. Cuny is averaging 3.4 blocked shots per game this season, ranking her atop the conference leaderboard, while ranking eighth individually among all NCAA Division III student-athletes.
Cuny earned CCIW Player of the Week honors for the week of Dec. 8-14 after recording the first triple-double in program history in the Cardinals' 101-97 win over Carroll University on Dec. 10, finishing with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks. Cuny's 10 blocks also set a new single-game record, while the sophomore forward holds the top-five spots on the single-game list. Her efforts also earned her the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Division III National Player of the Week on Dec. 16.
Elmhurst's Fiona McMahon earned the CCIW Most Outstanding Player award, while the Bluejays' Mikaela Eppard took home CCIW Newcomer of the Year. Wheaton College's Kent Madsen was named CCIW Coach of the Year.
The Cardinals (21-4) qualified for the CCIW Tournament for the second time in the last three seasons, claiming the No. 2 seed and will play Elmhurst (16-9) tonight at Wheaton College with tip-off slated for 5 p.m. at King Arena. More information can be found at the CCIW Tournament webpage at
