Feb. 5, 2015 – North Central College women's basketball player
Tess Godhardt has been named to the 2014-2015 NCAA Division III Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
Godhardt, a political science major, was one of five players selected to the All-District Seven Team, which includes institutions from Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.
So far this season, Godhardt has paced a Cardinal offense that currently leads all of Division III in scoring average (94.7 ppg), averaging a team-high 17.0 ppg, to lead all College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) scorers. Godhardt is also averaging 6.5 rebounds per game, good for second on a team that ranks second nationally in offensive rebounds per game (23.0).
Godhardt's 104 made free-throws rank her ninth on the program's single-season record book, while her .573 field goal percentage would rank her atop the single-season list.
The CCIW was also represented by Wheaton College's Hannah Considine and Katie McDaniels as the conference made up three of the five members on the All-District Seven Team.
This marks North Central's 41st Academic All-District selection from CoSIDA. By virtue of her selection, Godhardt is eligible for selection to the 2014-15 Division III Academic All-America Team, which will be released February 24.
