Mar. 24, 2015 - North Central College junior baseball player Bryan Polowy has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Pitcher of the Week for Mar. 16-22. The CCIW announced this week's Hitter and Pitcher of the Week honorees Tuesday afternoon.

Polowy was selected after recording the Cardinals' first complete-game shutout of the season on Saturday in a 4-0 victory over Union College (New York). He allowed just one hit and no walks in seven innings while striking out two to pave the way to a victory in North Central's first game in the RussMatt Invitational in Auburndale, Florida.

Through three starts, Polowy is 2-1 this season with a team-low 0.43 earned-run average with 15 strikeouts against just four walks in 21 innings of work. He receives one of the CCIW's weekly awards for the first time in his career.

After a Tuesday double header against St. Olaf College (Minnesota), the Cardinals (6-5) will wrap up their Florida schedule on Wednesday with a single game against the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
