DUBUQUE, Iowa (Apr. 11, 2015) -
The North Central College women's lacrosse team improved to a perfect 6-0 in road games this season on Saturday, remaining at the top of the heap in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play with a 16-9 victory at the University of Dubuque.

The Cardinals (9-1, 3-0 CCIW) extended their school-record winning streak to eight games and saw junior Gina Fisher add a fourth career school record to her collection, as her five draw controls pushed her career total to a North Central-best 169.

North Central and the Spartans (7-4, 1-2) were deadlocked at 3-3 after 10 minutes of play, but Dubuque was limited to 0 for 7 shooting over the final 20 minutes of the first half. Fisher put the Cardinals in front with a free-position goal with 18:03 on the clock, then scored off a pass from Claire Norfleet with 13:26 left before tacking on a third straight goal with 1:17 before halftime.

Dubuque's Kelly Wetherald and Bridget Schirmers both scored in a 36-second span early in the second half to close the gap to 6-5, but the Cardinals countered with their own quick-scoring binge by putting up three goals in just 34 seconds. Norfleet started the rally with a free-position goal at the 25:19 mark, and Bianca Perri added a goal with 25:03 left before Jordyn McFarlane scored on an assist from Fisher to extend the visitors' lead to 9-5 with 24:45 to go.

Leading, 13-9, with five minutes left, North Central closed the door by scoring the game's final three goals as Norfleet, Fisher and Kassie Whaling all scored.

Fisher totaled seven goals, matching the second-highest single-game total in the Cardinals' history, while McFarlane and Norfleet each totaled three assists. Norfleet also chased down five ground balls and Rebecca James caused four turnovers. Goalkeeper Kat Schultz put up a season-high 10 saves.

The Cardinals host CCIW rival Carthage College (8-4, 2-0) on Wednesday, with action set to get under way at 7:00 p.m. The game will be North Central's annual Pink Game and its annual Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night.  Live in-game statistics and video coverage from Naperville Community Television can be accessed by clicking HERE.
