Apr. 27, 2015 - North Central College has three representatives on the inaugural All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Lacrosse Teams, as juniors Gina Fisher, Rebecca James and Claire Norfleet have each made the First Team and Fisher was voted the conference's Offensive Player of the Year. The CCIW announced its award winners for the 2015 season on Monday.

The Player of the Year honor is the third consecutive such award for Fisher, who was named the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) Defensive Player of the Year in 2013 and 2014. The Cardinals' leader in goals scored (59), ground balls (79), draw controls (67) and caused turnovers (48) this season, she leads the CCIW in goals per game (4.12), caused turnovers per game (3.43) and ground balls per game (5.64), ranking fourth in the nation among NCAA Division III players in caused turnovers and sixth in ground balls.

She has tied her own single-season school record for caused turnovers, which she set in 2013, and can match the single-season scoring record she established last season with two more goals. Fisher is North Central's career record holder for assists (72), ground balls (255), caused turnovers (135) and daw controls (190).

James is a First Team All-Conference selection for the second straight year, making the MWLC's First Team in 2014. Owning 40 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers this season, she ranks second on the team to Fisher in both categories. Norfleet, a Second Team All-MWLC honoree in 2013, has recorded 35 goals, 24 assists, 51 draw controls and 38 ground balls this season. She ranks second in school history in career assists (50) and fourth in draw controls (127).

Augustana College's Kaylee Nolan was voted the CCIW's Defensive Player of the Year, while Carthage College's Rachel Mussell was named the Newcomer of the Year. Augustana head coach Meredith Newman was selected as the conference's Coach of the Year.

North Central (10-4) travels to face Carthage (11-5) in the semifinals of the CCIW Tournament on Wednesday, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Other information about the tournament can be found at cciw.org.
