ABCA/Rawlings 2015 All-America Teams

ABCA/Rawlings 2015 Gold Glove Team

May 22, 2015 – The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings announced its 2015 NCAA Division III All-America teams on Friday, naming North Central College's Bryan Polowy to the second team, Polowy's second All-America honor this season, while shortstop Sam Klein was named the Gold Glove Team.
 
In addition to his second team honor, Polowy was also named to third team All-American by D3baseball.com, while earning both D3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings Central Region Pitcher of the Year, as well as College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Pitcher of the Year.
 
Coming off one of the most dominant seasons in North Central history, Polowy allowed just nine earned runs over 74 1/3 innings pitched, striking out 61 batters while walking just 17.  His 1.09 earned run average broke the program's single-season ERA mark of 1.37, originally set by Bob Walker in 1974, while leading the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) in wins, ERA and opposing batting average.    He jumped into the single-season record book in multiple categories, as his two shutouts this season rank him tied for first, his eight wins rank second, 74 1/3 innings pitched rank sixth and five complete games rank ninth. 
 
Klein is the first player in program history to be named to the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team, as one player from each division is selected at each position.  The senior shortstop led the team with 130 assists, to go along with 68 putouts and only seven errors on the season, good for a .966 fielding percentage.
 
Polowy was the only player from the CCIW selected to one of the three All-America teams, while Klein was joined on the Gold Glove Team by North Park University outfielder Zak Worsley.
