Box ScoreSep. 20, 2015 - The North Central College women's soccer team's five win streak came to an end against the Webster University Gorloks when they lost 3-2 on Sunday afternoon at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
The Cardinals wasted no time getting their offense started as
Jessica DeJong scored her sixth goal of the season in the 8
th minute off of an
Emily Gaither assist. The Cardinals (5-2) would add another goal in the 16
th minute when
Emily Gaither scored her first goal of the season.
Rebecca Sneddon was credited with the assist. The Gorloks (3-3) would fight back though as they scored in the 26
th and 38
th minute to even the score going into halftime, 2-2.
The second half saw very little action as both teams saw a back and forth effort throughout most of the period. Webster would break the tie as Brianna Pagan scored in the 71
st minute to give the Gorloks the lead and the eventual game winning goal.
The Cardinals were outshot by the Gorloks 15-10 and 11-5 on shots on goal. DeJong logged four shots on the day while
Emily Gaither tallied her first goal of the season.
North Central receives a break in action as they travel to University of Chicago in a non-conference matchup on Saturday, Sep. 26 with game time at 12 pm.
