PELLA, Iowa (Sep. 8, 2015) – After a defensive battle all afternoon, the North Central College women's soccer team won their third game in a row, defeating Central College on Tuesday afternoon in double overtime.

The Cardinals (3-1) and Dutch (3-1) traded shots with each other in the first half but both teams could not connect and went into halftime with a 0-0 tie. Both teams recorded four shots on goal in the first half.

The second half had a similar theme as both teams exchanged more shots, one shot on goal apiece. The teams headed into overtime with Central outshooting the Cardinals 21-12.

The first overtime followed suit as not a single shot on goal was registered for either team. In the opening minute of the second overtime Cardinal forward Victoria Stutzman scored off of a Sarah Gaither assist, allowing the Cardinals to capture the win.

Stutzman's goal was her second of the season and the first game winning goal of her career. Nicki Seiton logged her second shutout in a row, giving her six career shutouts and placing her third in the all-time records.

The Dutch outshot the Cardinals 23-16 but both teams ended with five shots on goal, one leading to the Cardinal win. 

North Central receives a break in action and returns home on Wednesday, Sep. 16 to face Concordia University Chicago in a non-conference contest starting at 5:30 pm.
