MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Feb. 19, 2016) – The North Central College men's volleyball team was unable to slow down the Milwaukee School of Engineering attack on Friday, falling to the 15
th-ranked Raiders by a 3-0 score in a Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) match.

The Cardinal attack could not find its rhythm all night, finishing with a .110 attack percentage, while the Raiders held a 45-29 margin in kills and ended with a .364 percentage.

The turning point in the opening set came with the score tied 17-17, as the Raiders (8-4, 5-0 MCVL) went on a three-point run and force a Cardinal timeout. North Central (2-9, 1-3 MCVL) was unable to mount a comeback late, dropping the first set 25-20.

Set two was back-and-forth early and with North Central trailing 20-18 late in the set, back-to-back kills from
Jacob Zemba and
Max Lawrence evened the score at 20. That proved to be as close as the Cardinals would come to the lead however, as another three-point run by the Raiders proved to be the pivotal run, going on to win the set 25-22.

North Central trailed 17-12 in the third set, but fought back to take a 20-19 lead behind kills from Zemba,
Andrew Bergstrand and
Bozhidar Kolev. The Cardinals held set point 24-23, forcing a Raider timeout, but MSOE responded with three straight kills coming out of the timeout to quickly turn the tables and win the set 26-24.

The Cardinals held a 20-8 advantage in service errors, but could not slow down the combination of Neil Naughton and Scott Boyk. Naughton led the Raider attack with 12 kills on 15 attempts, finishing with a .733 attack percentage, while Boyk connected on nine of his 15 attempts, good for a .533 percentage.

Lawrence led the North Central attack with nine kills, while Zemba finished with eight and Kolev added seven.Â
Raymond Kraus handed out a team-high 22 assists, while adding a team-leading seven digs.
