Feb. 9, 2016 – The North Central College wrestling team received College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) wrestler of the week honors as Tyler Vittal was honored for his performance in the Don Parker Open held at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire this past weekend.

Vittal took his first match on a 6-2 decision against Luther's Derek Stork, following it up with a late match pin against the number one seed from Augsburg, Logan Hortop. Vittal clinched a championship appearance as he took a 2-1 decision in the semifinal match. Vittal would drop the final match on a 9-4 decision but would bring home a second place finish in the 197 weight class.

Vittal is now 17-13 on the season including a 13-9 tournament record as well as 1-0 in conference duals. He has tallied 10 wins by decision, three by technical fall, and four pins.

The Cardinals conclude their season as they travel to Elmhurst to take on the BlueJays on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 7 pm. Live video can be found HERE
