April 13., 2016 – The North Central College Women's Lacrosse team opened College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play in record breaking fashion, in an 18-0 defeat of Elmhurst College on Wednesday night at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
The Cardinals broke the single season assist record, bringing their total to 118, and also single-game record for groundballs, with 45.
The contest would start off as a back and forth battle, but with 24:06 on the clock the Cardinals would score the first of their 18 goals, thanks to senior
Claire Norfleet. Sophomore
Emily Zadny scored the Cardinals second goal with 22:53 left in the half, and from there the Bluejays would suffer an onslaught of goals and go into halftime trailing the Cardinals 11-0.

Bianca Perri also contributed goals in the first half.
The Cardinals wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard in the second half, thanks to senior
Gina Fisher scoring off Norfleet's 34th assist of the season. Maas would score again with 25:29 left to play, followed by Fisher (21:28), Norfleet (19:39), Fisher (11:59), Zadny (10:37), and finally Stevens with 14 seconds remaining.
The Cardinals attack was firing on all cylinders again tonight, with Maas scoring a game high five goals, followed by Norfleet and Fisher who both had four. Maas also led the way with three assists, while Fisher had two. Fisher also had an outstanding eleven ground balls, while Maas contributed seven. Norfleet and Fisher each had four draw controls, and Fisher also had nine caused turnovers.
Also of note was Fisher, the Cardinals all time goal scoring leader, scoring her 200
th career goal.
