Apr. 26, 2016 – For the second time this season, North Central College's
Chris Hill has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Hitter of the Week, for the week of Apr. 19-25.
This mark's North Central's fifth Player of the Week award as a team this season, as Hill also earned the distinction on Mar. 8.
Russell Hoh,
Jordan Van Dyck and
Bryan Polowy have all been named Pitcher of the Week this season as well.
Hill batted .474 last week, leading the Cardinals to four-straight wins including the three-game series over Wheaton and a 13-6 win over then 19
th-ranked Concordia University Chicago on Apr. 19. Hill reached base in 8-of-9 plate appearances in the doubleheader sweep over the Thunder on Apr. 23, going 3-for-4 with a double and two runs in the opener, followed by a 4-for-5 performance with two doubles and a run. Earlier in the week, Hill delivered a 2-for-5 performance with a run scored, three RBI and a triple in the win over Concordia Chicago.
The junior catcher is currently tied with
Nick Sotiros for the team lead with 16 doubles this season, ranking tied for sixth on the program's single-season list. He also leads the team with three homeruns, while ranking second on the team with 41 hits, three triples, 72 total bases and a .643 slugging percentage.
North Central takes on Wabash College tonight in a non-conference contest at Standard Bank Stadium in Crestwood, Ill. with first pitch at 7 p.m. Links to live in-game statistics are available
