2016 ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Teams

May 24, 2016 – Continuing to add to their postseason awards, Nick Sotiros and Chris Hill were each selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-Central Region teams, earning first and second team honors, respectively.
 
The pair was selected to the All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) First Team, while Sotiros was named First Team All-Central Region by D3baseball.com and Hill was selected to the second team.
 
Sotiros led the team and CCIW batting .389 this season, while also leading the team with 68 hits, 22 doubles, four triples, four homeruns, 44 runs batted in, 110 total bases and a .643 slugging percentage.  His 22 doubles broke the program's single-season record of 18 set in 1996, while his 68 hits rank third on the single-season list.
 
Hill started all 43 of North Central's games behind the plate, guiding the Cardinal pitching staff to a 4.13 earned run average, the ninth best mark in single-season history.  The junior catcher hit .335 this season, while his 19 doubles rank second on the single-season list, just trailing Sotiros.  He tied Sotiros for the team lead with four homeruns, while ranking second on the team with 95 total bases and a .549 slugging percentage.
 
North Central finished the season with an overall record of 31-12, the second highest win total in program history, while qualifying for the NCAA Division III Regional Championship for the eighth time and the third under head coach Ed Mathey.
