Box Score

Sep. 13, 2016 (St. Louis, MO) – Forced to play catchup the majority of the match, the North Central College women's soccer team could not overcome the two goal lead against Webster University and fell 2-0 Tuesday night at World Wide Technology Soccer Park.

North Central failed to get anything going in the first half, despite outshooting Webster 7-6. Webster (1-2) made the most of their shots, scoring on two of the six shots. At the 28:10 mark, Nicole Basio was able to give the Gorloks the lead thanks to a Brianna Pagan assist. Pagan would tally her own goal roughly two minutes later. The Cardinals had their opportunities the rest of the half but could not capitalize on them.

North Central (1-3-1) would come out slow after the intermission, logging four shots to Webster's ten midway through the second half. The Cardinals were able to use their offense more efficiently, tallying six shots, double that of Webster. Despite the attack, North Central could not score past the goalkeeper duo of the Gorloks.

Despite the outcome, the Cardinals did not roll over and continued to attack the Webster defense, logging 16 shots on the day and six shots on goal. Nikki Seiton now stands alone as second all-time in career saves after saving seven shots in the match.

Taylor Markanich led the way for all competitors with nine shots on goal. Rachel Kolling logged four shots on the day.

North Central returns home Friday, September 16 as they host the University of Dubuque. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 pm. Live stats can be found HERE.
