- The North Central College men's lacrosse team extended it's undefeated record for their inaugural campaign with a triumphant 11-3 victory over the Monmouth College Fighting Scots Sunday afternoon.

The Cardinals were the offensive team from the first whistle with a faceoff win by freshman Nick Pardo. Within in the first five minutes, North Central tallied two shots and found the first goal of the game at 10 minutes and 58 seconds when freshman Noah Parrill fired off a shot. Just over a minute later, freshman Brock Haake connected with sophomore Tanner James and the Cardinals found another goal. A wide shot from Parrill was scooped up by James who scored two more goals within 30 seconds of eachother. With 4:45 left in the first quarter, Monmouth scored their first goal. The Cardinals closed out the quarter with a goal from Haake.

Trailing 5-1, the Fighting Scots found their second goal within the first two minutes of the second quarter, although North Central's offense was not deterred as freshman Sean Tomonari scored for the Cardinals.

The third quarter saw nine shots for the Cardinals. A holding penalty on Monmouth opened the opportunity for freshman Ethan Hurst to get on the scoreboard.

Freshman Jared Weaver opened the fourth quarter with a goal in the first 30 seconds.  North Central whipped 11 more shots and netted four more goals towards the win.

North Central took a total of 48 shots and claimed 12 of the 17 face offs. The Cardinals also picked up 48 ground balls and successfully cleared 18-out-of-19 clears.

The Cardinals will be on the road for their next three games kicking it off in Myrtle Beach, S.C. against Alfred State College!
