Danny Boyle of the North Central College Cardinals men's lacrosse team scored a team-high of five goals to help increase the team's impressive undefeated first season Friday afternoon with a 13-6 win over the Alfred State Pioneers.

Overall, the Cardinals scooped up 38 ground balls, 26 shots on goal and 22-out-of-25 successful clear attempts in their win.

Freshman
Noah Parrill took a shot wide, scooped up a ground ball and fed it to sophomore
Tanner James to net the first goal of the game with 10 minutes and 36 seconds left in the first quarter. Less than two minutes later, an Alfred State turnover, followed by a successful clear attempt for North Central, opened the gates for Parrill to score his first goal of the game. Â Boyle tallied his first goal after three shots on goal for the Cardinals and a failed Alfred State clear attempt.

Coming into the second quarter, a second goal from Boyle gave the Cardinals a cushion before Alfred State found it's first goal of the game with just over 11 minutes to go. Though in less than a minute and 10 seconds, freshman
Tommy Huizinga would extend the lead for North Central off a feed from freshman
Jared Weaver twice. Â Freshman
John Fitzgerald would collect a North Central goal late in the quarter.

The Pioneers finished the second quarter earning two more goals, yet the Cardinals ended the half leading 7-3.

An early goal in the third quarter made way for a momentum change, however a second goal from Boyle allowed North Central to regain control. The momentum continued into the second half of the game in favor of North Central with goals by Weaver, Parrill, Huizinga, and two more for Boyle.

The Pioneer would go on to also score two more goals.

Ross Hixson secured 13 saves for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals improve to 4-0 and move on to play Greensboro College in Greensboro, N.C. on Sunday Mar. 19 at 4p.m. (ET).
