Mynk Richardson-Clerk was honored by the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) on Monday, being named Defensive Player of the Week after playing an influential role in leading the women's lacrosse team to wins over Benedictine University on Mar. 8, and Adrian College on Mar. 11.
In the Cardinals' 20-7 rout of Benedictine, she contributed three ground balls, one caused turnover and one draw control.
Against Adrian, in North Central's 14-11 victory, she added four draw controls, three caused turnovers and one ground ball.
Head coach
Danielle Fiala has been impressed with Richardson-Clerk's performance so far, as well as that of the team.
"We are so proud of Richardson-Clerk and our team's accomplishments this week" she articulated. "The hard work she is putting in for the team every day has been displayed during games. This is a victory for both Richardson-Clerk and our entire team."
The Cardinals will be in action next against DePauw University on Saturday, Mar. 18, in a non-conference game at 2:00 p.m. at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. Live stats can be found
