April 17, 2017 – Freshman Jessica Deetjen of the North Central College women's lacrosse team was honored by the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) on Monday, receiving Defensive Player of the Week honors after helping lead the Cardinals to a pair of conference victories.

Against Elmhurst College on April 12, which saw North Central triumph 19-1, she accumulated four goals, five ground balls, five caused turnovers and three draw controls.

In the Cardinals' 17-2 win over Carroll University on April 15, Deetjen finished with two goals, four ground balls, three caused turnovers and three draw controls.

North Central (9-4, 2-0)  is in action next when they travel to Rock Island, Illinois on Wednesday, April 19, for a contest against Augustana College (6-5, 3-0)  with game time commencing at 7:00 p.m. Live stats and video can be found here.
