ELMHURST, Ill. (Oct. 17, 2018) - Seeking their fourth win in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) play against Elmhurst College on Wednesday, the North Central College men's soccer were unsuccessful in their quest, dropping the game 1-0.
In a game that proved to be a defensive battle, the two teams were only able to manage four shots a piece in the first half, with two of those shots being on goal for each team.
The second half was more of the same, all the way until the 79
th minute, when Elmhurst's (2-13, 1-5 CCIW) Matt McNamara chipped a ball into the box, which was then headed by Ben Myhr to teammate Keegan Thompson. Thompson received the ball with an empty net and blasted the shot into the back of the net for his fourth goal on the season.
Despite putting up an attempts at an equalizer for the remainder of the game, the Cardinals could not convert their nine shots in the second half, with the game ending in a 1-0 final in favor of the Blue Jays.

Marco Soto saved three shots in the loss, while Elmhurst goalie Patrick Smith saved six in his second win on the season.
