WAUKESHA, Wis. (Oct. 6, 2018) - Looking to extend their three-game win streak against Carroll University, the North Central College men's soccer team scored a season high four goals en route to a 4-1 win.
The Cardinals were able to improve their record to 8-3 overall and 3-1 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) play, currently second in the conference after Saturday night's action.
The Cardinals controlled the game from the beginning, getting off 15 shots throughout the course compared to the Pinoeer's (0-9-2, 0-3 CCIW) five.
Senior
Gavin Sanchez was the first Cardinal to score, putting his third goal of the season into the net late in the 16
th minute. The goal was assisted by
Alexis Flores and
Marco Soto.
The Cardinals scored again 20 minutes later, when
Austin Lombardi kicked a corner to
Ivan Bohorquez who put it past the keeper. For Bohorquez, it was his first goal of the season thus far. This made it 2-0 in the Cardinals favor going into halftime.
After the break, the Cardinals put two more goals in, the first from
Steven Abalos on an assist from
Teddy Trifunovski. The fourth and final goal for North Central came on unassisted by
Jack Bullard, his first on the season.
The Pioneers put themselves on the board with a goal in the 69
th minute to make it 4-1 and to end the scoring on the night.
For the Cardinals (8-3, 3-1 CCIW), they search for their fifth straight win against Carthage College on Oct. 10, playing on their home turf for the first time in two weeks. Follow along with the live stats
