WHEATON, Ill. (Feb. 17, 2018) – In its most lopsided game of the season, the North Central College women's basketball team found itself on the wrong end of a 67-30 final at Wheaton College on Saturday.
The Cardinals (5-19, 3-12 CCIW) scored a season-low 30 points on just 10-of-60 shooting from the field, including a season-low .097 percent from three-point range.
Wheaton (21-4, 14-2 CCIW) jumped out to a 18-4 lead after the first quarter, as North Central managed just two field goals in the opening 10 minutes. The Thunder opened up a 20-point lead just four minutes into the second quarter and cruised from that point forward.
The Thunder defense held three of the five Cardinal starters scoreless, while
Haydn Braun led the team with nine points, while
Siarra O'Neil added seven points and
Mayson Whipple finished with five.
Devin Kyler paced the Thunder offense with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Hannah Frazier finished with a game-high 12 points and Kelly Lawson added 10.
